The Rose Festival takes place every year during the first weekend of June, from Friday to Saturday. In 2006, Rose Festival dates are 2, 3 and 4 June.

Day 1
Departure from Sofia to the town of Kazanlak via the Rose Valley. Arrival just in time to attend the party for typical Bulgarian dance & song lessons (05 p.m.). Accommodation at a 3 star hotel in the center of the town.
07.30 p.m. - festive dinner with a folklore show.
At 09.00 p.m. starts the ritual of the official opening of the Festival on the central square. Overnight.
Day 2
08.00 a.m. - breakfast.
09.30 a.m. - a morning coffee - concert.
12.00 a.m. - visit to the newly opened Thracian tomb “Ostrusha” - the original one. 01.00 p.m. - festive lunch with folklore show plus special present for each tourist with a real rose oil.
03.30 p.m. - Orthodox Christian songs concert in the Russian memorial cathedral in the town of Shipka. Back to Kazanlak.
Visit of the famous Kazanlak Thracian tomb.
08.00 p.m. - festive gala dinner. Overnight.
Day 3
07.00 a.m. - breakfast.
08:30 a.m. - Rose picking ritual in a rose field near Kazanlak. Rose distilling ritual with folklore dances and music; tasting of the original rose products - brandy, liquor and jam; Tasting herbal oils (mint, rose, lavender) in the Rose museum.
11:30 a.m. - carnival on the central square.
01:00 p.m. lunch - BBQ.
Departure to Sofia.
